We have been informed by the Highland County Sheriffβs Office that, due to repairs on the downed power line, we will be without power until the repairs are completed.
Due to a downed power line in Monterey, the school is currently experiencing power and internet issues; however, all major functions remain operational.
Last week, Delegate Runion stopped by to speak with several middle and high school classes. He discussed the key differences between federal, state, and local governments, as well as the contrasts between urban and rural governance. πποΈ
One student even took a moment to thank Delegate Runion, expressing appreciation for his visit, especially since it's not often that politicians come to Highland to hear about local issues. π
Weβre grateful for his time and insight!

Commonwealth Conversation on Restoring Childhood Through Common Sense Approaches to Social Media and Cell Phones
On the evening of September 19, the First Lady and Dr. Haidt convened a fireside chat and discussed the findings of Haidtβs book The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness and how it informs our communities and schools in limiting social media and cell phone use to help restore childhood and play.
Parents, families, students, and community members are encouraged to watch the recording and engage in conversations on cell phones and social media's effects on children.
