In honor of National Police Week, Highland School Resource Officer, Beth McGuire, worked with Highland Physical Education teachers Cindy Wood and Megan Botkin to arrange for students to participate in a mock Law Fit (aka Physical Agility) course. The Law Fit course is the obstacle course that many police officers have had to pass in order to advance for employment during the application process and sometimes even for promotions. Using equipment the school had on hand Officer McGuire set up the course as best she could to mock the actual course. The students loved it, but also realized just how hard it actually is. Some of the obstacles were much easier than in the actual course, but they were timed and almost all passed.
Officer McGuire also worked with Librarian Caroline Botkin to read to the Elementary students and made them a coloring sheet to go along with her story.
