MONTEREY — Highland continued to pile on the junior varsity softball wins last week.

The Rams (4-0 Pioneer District, 6-1 overall) beat Parry McCluer last Tuesday at home, 13-2, before blowing out Craig County in New Castle on Thursday, 22-4.

Games scheduled against Richwood on Friday and at Tygarts Valley on Monday were both postponed.

The Rams scored nine times in the first inning against the Fighting Blues.

Sarah Liller pitched the victory, allowing six hits, striking out seven, walking three and hitting a batter.

Colleen Adams and Peyton Neil each had three hits and scored three times to lead the offense. Kristina Neil also had three knocks, Liller, Amelia Good and Adelaide Baxter had two hits apiece, while Ava Summers, Makynley Smith and Emma Brower all had one.

Individual statistics for the Craig County win were not available as of Wednesday morning.

Highland’s scheduled game today against Bath County was postponed until April 28. The Rams play at Eastern Montgomery next Tuesday.
