MONTEREY — Highland scored a runrule 22-2 victory over Pocahontas County, W.Va., last Thursday to open its season.

Sarah Liller pitched the victory, allowing five hits, striking out five, walking one and hitting one batter.

Colleen Adams had four hits and scored four runs for the winners. Peyton Neil also had four hits, Liller and Amelia Good had three, Ava Summers had two and Kristina Neil, Elanor White, Emma Brower and Hensley Neil had one hit each.

The Rams lost a 13-5 decision to Richwood Monday night in West Virginia.

Highland’s roster includes Colleen Adams, Adelaide Baxter, Emma Brower, Amelia Good, Sarah Liller, Scarlett Lupo, Anna Meehan, Daisy Moyers, Kristina Neil, Hensley Neil, Peyton Neil, Makynley Smith, Ava Summers and Elanor White. The team is coached by Jeff Wood and Megan Botkin.

The Rams (1-1) play at Pocahontas County, W.Va. today and host Narrows for a doubleheader on Saturday.
