ALLEGHENY HIGHLANDS — The basketball teams at Highland and Bath high schools were well represented on the All-Pioneer District teams released last week.
The Rams and Chargers combined for nine selections, led by Highland senior John Wagner, who was the only area player to be selected to the first team.
Wagner was joined on the boys’ honor squad by senior teammate Eli Moore (second team) and a pair of Ram junior honorable mention picks — Zach Armstrong and Elijah Good.
Bath County senior Issac Ingram and junior Luke Turner were both second-team picks.
Three Charger freshmen were on the girls’ team.
Addison Lockridge and Trinity Forbes were both on the second team and Ryleigh Phillips was on the honorable mention list.
Player of the Year awards went to Langston Cook, of Parry McCluer, and Karsyn Reed, of Narrows, while Tyler Kerr (Parry McCluer) and Brad Sutphin (Narrows) were the Coaches of the Year.
