ELLISTON — Highland scored nine unanswered points in the third quarter, putting away a 28-16 Pioneer District junior varsity girls’ basketball win over Eastern Montgomery here Tuesday night.
The Rams led 11-6 at the quarter, 15-12 at the half, and 21-12 after three periods.
Amelia Good had seven points to lead Highland (2-1 Pioneer District, 4-2 overall),
Colleen Adams, Hannah Meyerhoeffer and Makynley Smith each had six, Brooke Williams scored two, and Anna Meehan had one.
Williams also had five rebounds and two blocks, while Meyerhoeffer and Good both grabbed four rebounds.
Kenzie Dunbar scored 11 points for Eastern Montgomery.
Highland is at Pocahontas County tonight and hosts Narrows on Saturday.
