Last Thursday, Sept. 12, the Highland County School Board unanimously voted to place Tammy Minnigh on the statewide Virginia School Boards Association Media Honor Roll, calling attention to the ongoing responsibility and exemplary nature of her reporting Highland schools. School board member Kenny Hodges, left, presented the award to Minnigh. The board’s resolution stated, “We express our appreciation for your balanced and accurate approach to sharing with this community both the challenges facing our schools and the successes achieved by the teachers and students.
