GREENVILLE — The Highland track team competed in two meets in a four-day stretch last week, running at the Lumberjack Invitational in Richwood, W.Va., on Tuesday before the Augusta County Invitational on Friday at Riverheads High School.

The Rams’ girls placed fourth among eight teams in Richwood and finished fourth out of seven at Riverheads.

Jazmine Douglas scored 13½ points in West Virginia, placing second in the 100-meter dash, fourth in the 200-meter race and teaming with Zalea Good, Colleen Adams and Annah Moyers for third in the 4×100-meter relay.

Good was fifth in the 400, Adams tied for fourth in the high jump and Moyers placed fifth in the long jump and third in the 100-meter dash.

In the Augusta County meet, the Highland girls posted two individual victories.

Douglas ran a race-winning 14.04 in the 100 meters and Moyers won the long jump with a leap of 13-10¼.

Moyers, who scored a team-high 18 points, added a third in the 100 and the 4×100 relay team also placed third.

The Rams, with just four athletes, were just three points back of Stuarts Draft for third place overall.

Highland’s boys’ team scored 17 points at Richwood and put up 30½ and finished fifth out of seven at Riverheads.

Moore finished third in the 400 at Richwood and joined Jaden Veasey, Patton Hull and Zach Armstrong for a third in the 4×100-meter relay.

John Wagner added a third in the shot.

At Riverheads, Moore was second in the 400, Hull was fourth in the 200 and tied for fifth in the long jump and Wagner was fifth in the discus. The 4×100-meter relay team placed third.

Moore scored a combined 20½ points in the two meets and Hull added 11.

Highland was scheduled to compete in their last regular season meet on Wednesday at Waynesboro. The Pioneer District championships will be held on Wednesday, May 15, at Giles High School.
